John Markoff is a reporter at the New York Times and now writes for the Science Section from San Francisco. He wrote the first article about the World Wide Web in 1993. He is a member of a Times team of reporters that received a Pulitzer Prize for Explanatory Reporting in 1993. He is the author of five books including “What the Dormouse Said: How the Sixties Counterculture Shaped the Personal Computing Industry.” His most recent book is “Machines of Loving Grace: The Quest for Common Ground Between Humans and Robots,” published by HarperCollins this August.
