Alex Marshall, Venture Capitalist, Special Projects - First Round

 Who we are determines what we see and what we build; who we invest in reflects what kind of community and world we want to create. At First Round, Alex is focused on building products that reimagine how investors can better foster and support the early founder ecosystem from exploration to investment. She spends most of her day working with folks who are just diving into the company-building process. 

 Both at First Round and outside of work, she spends a great deal of time working with other investors and founders - especially across fintech, healthcare and consumer. She currently helps run the Fintech Today and @bywomenVCs communities, is one of the co-founders of LatinxVC and co-leads the ALL RAISE Fintech Learning Circles.

 Prior to First Round, Alex was Director of Platform at Backstage Capital, where she worked exclusively with underrepresented founders on fundraising, finding product/market fit and restructuring business models. Before that, was co-founded a First Round portfolio company, Health IQ - an insurtech company that rewards people for taking control of their health. She started her career at Goldman Sachs, Farallon Capital and the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation. She's a proud Williams College alum.
