G. (“Gregg”) Pascal Zachary has observed, documented, analyzed and written about digital enterprises and the political economy of technological change for 35 years. He has been editor of the San Jose Business Journal, the principal reporter on Silicon Valley for the Wall Street Journal, and an innovation columnist for The New York Times. He currently contributes the Spectral Lines column to Spectrum magazine, published by IEEE, the world’s largest association of electrical engineers. His book Showstopper, on the making of Windows NT by Microsoft, has been published in Japanese, German, Chinese, Portuguese and English. He is the author of a biography of Vannevar Bush, the organizer of the Manhattan Project and the world’s leading designer of pre-digital computers. Zachary is a professor in Arizona State University’s new School for the Future of Innovation In Society.
